What We
Believe
Statement of Faith
We believe in God
the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in
Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, our one and only
Savior and in the Holy Spirit, an active and operative
person of God, who dwells in every Christian.
We believe in the
Bible--God’s Holy Word, Scripture. We believe God inspired
the autographs (original writings) of the Scripture and
those autographs were consequently without error:
We accept the
Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and
practice.
We believe the
Bible teaches:
That man,
created by God, willfully sinned against God and is
consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus
Christ.
That
salvation--the forgiveness of sins--is only by grace
through faith in Jesus Christ.
That one
receives God’s grace by putting faith in Christ,
repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and being baptized
in Christ.
We believe that
mankind was created in God’s image, and as such is to honor
and glorify God in all things.
We believe that
as a consequence of the fall, mankind now relates in a
distorted manner to God, himself, others and nature. All
forms of immorality are an expression of this distortion.
We believe that
all immorality with its behaviors, identities, fantasies and
lifestyles are sin and need to be totally forsaken.
We believe that
freedom from any bondage is desired by God and made possible
through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ and the
transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that
the Church is the primary instrument that God has chosen to
use in ministering that reconciliation and wholeness.
