The
History of CrossOver Ministries
CrossOver Ministries was founded in 1986 in Lexington,
Kentucky. Biblically based and Christ-centered, it is an
interdenominational, non-profit Christian ministry supported
by tax-deductible donations from individuals, churches, and businesses.
The ministry's purpose is to proclaim and make possible the
healing restoration of the sexually and relationally broken
through a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and His
Church. The ministry began as a result of
committed Christians who came together because they
understood that same-gender attractions were incompatible with what they
understood from Scripture to be God's intended will. The original logo design of the ministry
depicted the true heart of those pioneering believers. It
was a pictorial design of Moses and the children of Israel
escaping the bondages of Egypt, crossing over the Red Sea to
lasting freedom.
Shortly after its incorporation, under the banner of
CrossOver, the ministry became a Member Ministry of Exodus
International, North America. Exodus, founded in 1976, was
the first active organization ministering to those desiring
freedom from homosexual and lesbian identities and
behaviors.
CrossOver is equally equipped to reach out to the parents,
spouses, family members, friends, and clergy of loved ones
who are caught in this type of sexually broken behavior.
CrossOver is also committed to equipping and unifying the
Church at large to restore wholeness to those who are
sexually broken and bound.
Specific outreaches of the ministry include: one-on-one
mentoring counseling, overcomer support groups, a parents'
support group, spousal support, women's and men's Bible
study programs, church training and equpping programs,
prayer ministry,, and printed
literature.
CrossOver is a referral ministry of national
organizations such as Focus on the Family.
