THE HAND OR THE FACE

by Lisa Hunter

When times are hard and life is despair.

We cry to God cause' we know He's there.

Is that the only time we pray?

Cause' we know God will listen and wipe tears away?

How many times do we just love on Him?

I bet that the numbers would be very slim.

We rush around like we're running a race.

And then seek God's hand and never His face.

We all want His blessings, what He does for us.

But when it comes time for Him, all we do is rush.

He wants our attention, just to spend time with Him.

Sorry God no time, I'm late for the gym.

But our loving Father waits with arms open wide.

Knowing we'll come, when we're needing to hide.

He will comfort His child, and on the enemy stand.

But never do we look to His face, just His hand.

So come now my friends and take time to pray.

Climb up in God's lap and love Him today.

Put your ear to His chest, and hear His heart beat.

Just rest in His arms, sense His fragrance so sweet.

Feel the warmth of His love as He sings over you.

Let His peace fill your heart, make you feel young and new.

He caresses your hair, sweetly looks in your face.

All your cares disappear, all your troubles erase.

Hold His strong hand, He'll never let you go.

Look into His face, see His love all aglow.

Humble your hearts, against sin take your stand.

If we first seek God's face, He'll act with His hand.
